NIDA Debuts 2024 BRICS Partnership for a New Industrial Revolution Event Series

The Global Fixed Network Innovation Alliance (NIDA) was invited to participate in the 2024 BRICS Partnership for the New Industrial Revolution in Xiamen from September 8 to 11, demonstrating the planning and practice of innovative development of next-generation Internet infrastructure.
At the 2024 BRICS New Industrial Revolution Exhibition, NIDA, the World Wireless LAN Application Development Alliance (WAA) and the International Star Flash Alliance (SA) jointly formed the "New BRICS Connectivity" exhibition area. Among them, NIDA, together with its member units, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Beijing Xinertai Technology Co., Ltd., Changsha Institute of Computing and Digital Economy, Peking University, and Zhuhai Nebula Zhilian Technology Co., Ltd., exhibited innovative solutions such as high-quality 10GE campus, intelligent computing center network, and new network brain. It shows some of the research results of the Alliance and its members in the evolution of the next generation Internet Net5.5G.

Deng Yiou, Secretary-General of NIDA, also attended the 2024 BRICS Connectivity Innovation Forum and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Consolidating Industry Forces to Promote the Innovation and Evolution of the Next Generation Internet". He shared the Alliance's insight into the next generation Internet and his thoughts on the evolution direction of relevant innovative technologies. He said: With the new opportunities brought by new productive forces, the network has become the key infrastructure to promote industrial upgrading. NIDA is committed to researching scenarios and architecture innovations for next-generation Internet infrastructure, gathering global industry consensus, and promoting Internet infrastructure innovation.

At this forum, WAA and NIDA jointly released the Technical White Paper on Green and Energy Saving for Campus Wireless LANs. As an area with intensive economic activities and energy consumption, green energy-saving solutions have been widely deployed. As an intelligent campus infrastructure, the campus WLAN also needs to be deployed with a green energy-saving solution. This document analyzes multiple WLAN energy-saving solutions and their features. It is recommended that campus network planners deploy different energy-saving solutions based on service scenarios in different areas of the campus. In addition, it is recommended that the WLAN awareness capability be coordinated with the intelligent building energy consumption system to achieve 10% comprehensive energy saving benefits of buildings.

In addition, Secretary-General Deng Yiou has been appointed as a member of the Steering Committee of the BRICS New Connectivity Profession Committee. In the future, he will work with other expert members to promote in-depth cooperation and sustainable development of BRICS countries in the new connected industries, and establish platforms and channels for industrial research, technical standards, testing and certification, and demonstration applications. Promote the innovative application of new connectivity technologies and industrial upgrading and transformation in BRICS countries.

The event strengthened communication between NIDA and BRICS countries, spread the concept of the next-generation network Net5.5G evolution, and deepened industry consensus. NIDA will continue to cooperate with scientific research institutions, universities, and enterprises in BRICS countries in the field of next-generation Internet infrastructure to promote global Internet innovation and development.
