Second Network Innovation and Development Conference Successfully Held

[Wuzhen, China, November 20, 2024] Hosted by the Global Fixed Network Innovation Alliance (Network Innovation and Development Alliance) and co-organized by the Computing Profession Committee of the China Society of Communications and the Global IPv6 Forum. The 2nd Network Innovation and Development Conference organized by the Co-entropy Industry and Standards Innovation Service Center was successfully concluded. With the theme of "New Quality Leads, Pioneers Begin", the conference attracted nearly 180 top industry professionals from different regions and organizations around the world to jointly point out the direction and path of the next generation Internet development.

New Quality Internet-Net5.5G Phase Global Pioneer Program

At the meeting, leaders and guests attended the meeting, including Wu Hequan, director of the & Expert Committee on Promoting IPv6 Deployment and Application, Zhang Hongke, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering & Honorary Chairman of the NIDA, Wen Ku, president of the China Communications Standardization Association, and Liu Yulin, director of the China Internet Information Center. And give a speech. The guests unanimously expressed that the development of the next-generation Internet has become an urgent priority for the Internet industry in today's era of intelligentization. They called on the global industry to work hand in hand to draw a grand blueprint for the development of the Internet.

Many global Internet industry leaders from IETF, WBBA, ITU-T, IPv6 Forum, CCSA, and NIDA reached a consensus through the Thought Pioneer Dialogue. "The Internet needs intergenerational cooperation and global industries need cooperation" to lead the orderly and healthy development of the Internet industry. On this basis, industry leaders jointly launched the Global Internet Industry Cooperation initiative, calling on the global Internet industry to strengthen cooperation and unite together to define the Internet industry's intergenerational relationship.

As the next generation of Internet, the new quality Internet becomes the focus of this conference, and its first development stage, Net5.5G, has attracted much attention. New quality Internet (Net5.5G) innovatively proposed "four links and four new" has become a broad consensus in the industry. To accelerate the business process of the new Internet, the IETF, WBBA, ITU-T, IPv6 Forum, CCSA, China Research Institute of Information and Communications, NIDA, China Telecom Research Institute, China Mobile Research Institute, China Unicom Research Institute, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and HKUST iFly and other people from all walks of life jointly launched the "New Quality Internet-Net5.5G Phase Global Pioneer Program", focusing on the development of 100 thought pioneers, 100 city pioneers, and 100 business pioneers worldwide. It aims to promote the development of the new Internet to a higher level by pooling global industry forces.

During the conference, representatives from Shenzhi City and the Arab ICT Organization shared their practices on the construction of Shenzhen's pioneer city of ultra-fast broadband and Saudi Arabia's 10GE city, demonstrating the great potential and social value of the new Internet in practical applications.

At the end of the conference, to better guide the implementation of the new Internet, NIDA worked with multiple industry partners to release three key network construction standards: Research Report on the Development of High-Quality 10G Campus Network Technology, Technical Requirements for Intelligent Campus Network O&M Capability, and Technical Requirements for Intelligent Computing Data Center Network Construction. It provides scientific guidance and basis for the commercial application and deployment of the new Internet, and lays a solid foundation.

The successful holding of this conference marks that the Internet is entering a brand-new stage of development. The global pioneering plan of the new Internet (Net5.5G) will lead the global Internet industry to a more glorious future. At the same time, NIDA, the organizer of the international industry organization, has become increasingly influential in the industry and is contributing to the healthy development of the global Internet industry.
