The "New Quality Internet AN L4 Innovation Plan" is officially launched.


[Wuzhen, China, November 20, 2024] The Global Fixed Network Innovation Alliance (Network Innovation and Development Alliance) Network Intelligence Working Group (hereinafter referred to as the "Working Group") meeting with the theme "AI Enables L4 Self-Intelligent Networks, Shapes New Networks Brains" was successfully held. AN industry experts and enterprise representatives gathered together. At the meeting, the working group released the new quality Internet AN L4 innovation plan, helping thousands of industries accelerate the realization of all-round intelligence.


Tang Xiongyan, Vice Chairman of the NIDA Board of Directors and Vice President of China Unicom Research Institute, Wang Hui, member of the NIDA Expert Committee, and President of the NCE Data Communication Domain of Huawei Data Communication Product Line, attended the meeting and delivered speeches, calling on all members of the working group to work together. Together, we will welcome the dawn of self-intelligent networks in the L4 era and contribute to building a better digital world.

During the conference, Ma Junfeng, Chairman of the NIDA Network Intelligence Workgroup and Deputy Chief Engineer of the Institute of Technology and Standards of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, introduced the industry insights of AI for Network, revealing that AN is becoming a strategic choice for more and more operators to move towards automation and intelligence. Operators will adopt the L4 blueprint. Select scenarios, set targets, and introduce AI/large models to build scenario-level self-intelligence capabilities.

New Quality Internet's Intelligent O&M Capability Technical Requirements for Smart Campus Networks is officially released.


Self-intelligent network experts from China Unicom Research Institute, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Future Network Innovation Institute shared their own industry practices. At the same time, Zhang Zhang, a contributor to the working group, explained the first work of the working group, Technical Requirements for Intelligent O&M Capability of Smart Campus Networks, which was officially released at the 2nd NIDA Network Innovation and Development Conference held on the same day.

New Quality Internet AN L4 Innovation Plan Officially Launched


To further promote the implementation of AN L4, more than 20 member organizations, including China Academy of Information and Communications, China Unicom Research, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Future Network Innovation Research Institute, Zhongyu Lianyun Cloud Computing Service (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Smart City Communications Co., Ltd., are participating in this event. During the meeting, we jointly launched the new quality Internet AN L4 innovation plan. The plan aims to implement AN L4 projects in multiple industries in China by 2025, complete the pilot of AN L4 projects outside China, and build a large-scale influence in multiple regions around the world, such as Asia Pacific and Europe, by 2027.


At the same time, China Unicom Research Institute and Huawei Data Communication Product Line reached a cooperative intention to set up a joint innovation lab for self-intelligent networks to jointly promote continuous innovation and progress in self-intelligent network technologies.


As an active promoter of the intelligent network transformation, the NIDA Network Intelligence Working Group will continue to connect industry, university, research, and construction parties, promote industry exchanges, promote industry cooperation, accelerate the development of new Internet and self-intelligent networks, and inject great impetus into the development of the digital economy.
