The first meeting and kick-off meeting of the NIDA Network Evolution Working Group (WG01) was successfully held.

On October 29, 2024, the Network Evolution Working Group (WG01) held the first meeting and kick-off meeting of the working group in the form of an online Tencent meeting. Gao Wei, Cao Chang, Wei Liang, Chen Shuanglong, Zhu Yongqing, Hu Zehua, Wang Junjie, Zhu Haidong, Wu Yixuan, Hao Bin and Zhang Shuai attended the meeting. This meeting is of symbolic significance and lays a solid foundation for the subsequent task execution and activities of the Network Evolution Working Group.

At the meeting, the secretary of the working group introduced the background, objectives, organizational structure, and current operation of the NIDA Alliance. The participants discussed the objectives and plans of the network evolution working group, and unanimously approved the work plan and objectives of the working group.

The meeting also adopted the proposal that Mr. Zhu Yongqing, Director of the IP Network Technology Research Center of the Institute of Network Technology of the Research Institute of China Telecom Co., Ltd., nominated by Chairman Gao Wei, serve as the Vice Chairman of the Network Evolution Working Group.

At the same time, the meeting reviewed and passed the Next Generation Network for 5.5G Era(Net5.5G) deployment guideline project initiation resolution. The subsequent network evolution working group (WG01) will select a date to submit the project to the Technical Committee (TC) for formal decision-making.

The kick-off meeting was successfully concluded. During the meeting, delegates actively participated in the discussions, had in-depth exchanges on key topics, reached multiple consensuses, and clarified the future work direction of the working group.
