NIDA Data Center Network Working Group (WG03) 1st Meeting and Kick-off Meeting Successfully Held
On October 12, 2024, the NIDA Data Center Network Working Group held a working group kick-off meeting in the form of an online meeting. Cloud Institute of China Academy of Information and Communication, ZTE Corporation, China Mobile Software Cloud Network Product Department, China Telecom Cloud Computing Research Center, China Unicom Research Institute, Pengcheng Laboratory Broadband Communication Department, Computer Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Beijing Xinertai Technology Co., Ltd. , Jiangsu Future Network Innovation Research Institute, Shenzhen Future Zhilian Network Research Institute, iFly of HKUST, Institute of High Energy Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Computing Center of Peking University, Ping An Technology Co., Ltd., Zijinshan Laboratory, Zhuhai Xingyun Zhilian Technology Co., Ltd., Suzhou Shengke Communication Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Hua More than 20 members, including Er Data Technology Co., Ltd. and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., attended the meeting. This kick-off meeting is a milestone and lays a solid foundation for the establishment and development of the data center network team.
At the meeting, Guo Liang, Chairman of the Working Group, delivered a speech, introducing the mission and objectives of the Working Group, and encouraging everyone to devote themselves to their work with greater enthusiasm and confidence. He hoped that at the meeting, everyone would speak freely and actively communicate with each other and make joint suggestions for the development of the working group.
The meeting first considered the proposal for the establishment of the working group. After full discussion, delegates agreed that the establishment of the working group is of great significance to guide the planning and construction of the next-generation intelligent computing center network. Finally, the meeting voted unanimously to establish the working group motion, announced the formal establishment of the working group.
In view of the lack of network construction standards in the current data center network field, the work team will focus on developing network construction standards for data center networks. In addition, the work team plans to release standards for the intelligent computing data center network field in the near future, leading the construction of next-generation data center networks. In the future, more technical discussions and research will be carried out on the application and innovation of Ethernet technology in intelligent computing and high performance and environment.
Several important developments were achieved at this meeting, which laid a solid foundation for the future development of the Working Group.
