NIDA was invited to the 2024 APAC IPv6 Council conference and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with APAC IPv6 Council.

On December 6, 2024 (Malaysia time), NIDA Secretary-General Deng Yiou was invited to attend the 2nd APAC IPv6 Council Conference held at Dun Abdul Rasa University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and deliver a speech entitled "Insights on Next Generation Network Evolution".

The goal of the 2nd APAC IPv6 Council is to advance the deployment of IPv6 in the enterprise, academic, and government sectors in the Asia Pacific region. Experts and scholars from Asia-Pacific countries attending the meeting included:

Deng Yiou mentioned in his speech: With the advent of the intelligent era, the Internet infrastructure industry faces severe challenges in key service scenarios such as joint computing, joint intelligence, joint data, and joint air. To address these challenges, the Internet infrastructure industry will enter a new phase, Net5.5G. Its technical features include: New ultra-broadband connections, new IPv6+ expansion, new network intelligence, and new security mechanisms. At the meeting, Deng Yiou introduced the mission of NIDA: Define the evolution path and network construction standards for global Internet infrastructure, guide industry upgrade, and call on standards and industry organizations to work closely together to form a systematic cooperation framework based on their responsibilities to jointly promote network development and evolution to the Net5.5G era.

At this meeting, NIDA and APAC IPv6 Council signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Based on the Net5.5G consensus, the two sides will strengthen inter-organizational cooperation, jointly carry out technological innovation and industry promotion, jointly promote the deployment and implementation of IPv6 in the Asia-Pacific region, and promote the innovation and development of the Internet infrastructure industry.
