Discussing Fixed Networks to Enable the New Future of Healthcare
On April 23, 2025, Changsha, Hunan – opened the "First Digital Ecosystem Innovation Conference for the Healthcare Industry and the 7th National Finals of the Smart Healthcare Innovation Competition" (hereinafter referred to as the "Innovation Competition"). The Global Alliance for Fixed Network Innovation (NIDA) successfully hosted the Healthcare Industry Council Preparatory Meeting. The conference brought together industry leaders and experts from medical institutions, research institutes, and technology companies to discuss how to use advanced fixed network technologies to drive digital transformation and high-quality development in the healthcare industry. In the future, Committee members will work with NIDA to accelerate the development of network construction standards and solutions that meet the specific needs of the healthcare industry, effectively supporting and promoting innovation and development in the healthcare industry.
At the beginning of the conference, Huang Weihong, deputy director of the Ministry of Education and China Mobile Joint Laboratory of Mobile Healthcare, Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, delivered an opening speech. He mentioned the potential and value of the integration of network technologies with applications in the medical industry. Deputy Director Huang Weihong believes that the healthcare industry is an ideal scenario for next-generation Internet applications. We should seize the opportunity and combine the strengths of carriers and industry partners to not only meet domestic requirements, but also formulate standards with international influence.
Zhu Keyi, deputy secretary-general of the NIDA Alliance, said that NIDA must work closely with the industry to develop network construction standards that meet the industry's core requirements. In recent years, service innovation in the healthcare industry has been booming, and higher requirements have been placed on the network infrastructure that supports the development of the industry. The purpose of NIDA's Healthcare Industry Committee is to deeply understand the business characteristics of the health care industry and use innovative network technologies to better support the development of the health care industry.
He also detailed the positioning and core mission of NIDA as an international, industrial, non-profit social organization. The organization structure, membership and operation mechanism of the proposed NIDA medical industry committee were introduced in detail.
Zhang Zhiliang, PMO, NIDA Secretariat, presented the Alliance's governance principles and standard workflows. NIDA adheres to the core principles of "openness, transparency and openness" and implements them through a standardized workflow. From proposal to standard release, the IT platform is used to record and manage the standards to ensure the transparency, fairness, and traceability of the standard output process.
In the following guest speech session, experts, scholars and industry representatives from more than 30 medical institutions throughout the country spoke freely, the atmosphere was both warm and solemn. The participants expressed their eager expectation and firm support for the proposed NIDA Medical Industry Committee, and expressed their commitment to give full play to their professional advantages, contribute their wisdom, and jointly promote the high-quality development of medical and health care.
